Mohammed Belayet Hossain

Mr. Belayet Hossain is regarded as one of the foremost corporate and judicial review lawyers at the Bangladesh Supreme Court Bar today. He is actively engaged in legal fraternity for over two decades.

A qualified barrister, Mr. Hossain focuses his core practice on Admiralty and maritime law, corporate and international trade law, local and international arbitration, judicial review etc.

In each of the fields he holds outstanding track record for clear and concise representation of his client’s interest. He is highly regarded among his fellow lawyers for distinctly assisting the courts and placing his submission before the courts in support of his clients. 

Mr. Hossain is also well equipped in Islamic Jurisprudence and family laws in Bangladesh.  

He obtained LLB (Hon’s) and LLM from University of Chittagong, obtained QLD in London, and obtained PGDL from City University, London and subsequently was called to the Bar of England and Wales by the hon’ble society of Lincoln’s Inn, London. Mr. Hossain was enrolled as an Advocate in the Register of Bangladesh Bar Council in 2000.

Barrister Hossain is a regular practitioner in both the Divisions (High Court Division and Appellate Division) of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh.

Mr. Hossain is currently advising dozens of national and international companies, dealing with dozens of admiralty and maritime claims. He regularly advises on constitutional and judicial review issues, equally takes part in arbitration sessions, family dispute, reconciliation etc.
